If you own a smartphone, you’re probably aware of the notorious Android vs. Apple debate. The debate covers far more than just smartphones, however; in fact, for dedicated Android and Apple users, it extends all the way to the Samsung Galaxy Buds and the Apple AirPods.
In this blog, we’ll discuss and compare the features of both Samsung Earbuds and Apple AirPods. Which is better? We’ll let you decide!
Design
These earbuds have significantly different designs.
Samsung: The Samsung Galaxy Buds have an unconventional design, one that visually sets them apart from the Apple Airpods. The buds are bean-shaped, which makes them comfortable to wear and improves their sound quality as well. And each bud sports a mirror-like finish that is elegantly reflective no matter the color.
Apple: The Apple AirPod design is as timeless, classic, and minimal as other Apple products. The buds are lightweight but sturdy, and the silicone tips provide additional comfort during wear.
Sound Quality
Samsung: The sound quality of the Samsung Galaxy Buds is rumored to be exceptional. You can adjust the volume from the buds, and you can also adjust the sound quality from the app (Galaxy Wearables). Additionally, the app has an Ambient Sound setting that brings in more outside noise, and it also has a Voice Focus option that makes voices stand out more clearly.
Apple: Apple’s AirPods use two microphones—the external microphone analyzes outside sounds and tries to cancel them out with anti-noise, and the internal microphone analyzes any sounds that get through and tries to cancel them out as well. The sound quality is tight and direct but not overwhelming.
Battery Life
Samsung: According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds allow up to 13 hours of play time, with 6 hours of charge in the earbuds, and an additional 7 hours with the charging case. Of course, this depends on how much you prioritize your usage, but overall the Samsung Earbuds’ battery life is strong.
Apple: According to Apple, you get more than 24 hours of listening time with multiple charges in your case or up to 18 hours of talk time. The AirPods can also get up to 5 hours of listening time or 3 hours of talk time on a single charge, giving them an excellent battery life.
Features
Samsung: The Samsung Galaxy Buds pair seamlessly with Galaxy phones, but their most exciting feature is the previously mentioned Galaxy Wearables app, which allows you to change the EQ settings and much more.
Apple: Although the Apple AirPods don’t have their own app, their connectivity is equally as easy because of their newly designed H1 chip. When you connect your AirPods to your iPhone, an option appears on the iPhone screen to pair the AirPods to the iPhone. Your phone screen will also show the battery status of the AirPods and the charging case.
It’s difficult to determine which is the better wireless earbud. No matter which earbud you decide to go with, both buds have unique features, strong sound quality, and long-lasting battery life. So you really can’t go wrong!
